MICHAEL S. HIRSCHKOWITZ is an associate in the firm's appellate and insurance coverage divisions. He graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor's degree in political science in 2002. Mr. Hirschkowitz attended Florida International University College of Law, and graduated cum laude. While in law school, Mr. Hirschkowitz was a recipient of the Book Award in Florida Civil Procedure and Criminal Procedure and served as a Board Member of the Florida International University Moot Court Board. Mr. Hirschkowitz became a Comment Editor for the Florida International Law Review, and authored Implying Against Intent: A New Test for Congressional Intent Under Cort v. Ash, 1 F.I.U.L.R. 239 (2006). Mr. Hirschkowitz previously served as a law clerk for two years to the Honorable Frank A. Shepherd of the Third District Court of Appeal.
